Whiskey & Funeral started playing together in 2005; Maurizio Montagna on the drums, Fabio D’Aleo on the guitar and Alessio Colantoni for voice. Stefano Montagna, bass guitar, later joined the group. The group mixed their own personal musical tastes, creating a sound that varied from hard rock to death metal, but more experimental and fun. In 2008, the band saw the departure of Fabio and Alessio, w...hich left the two brothers without a guitarist and without a singer. Stefano then left the bass guitar to concentrate on lead guitar. It was at this time that Francesco Andrei, a member of “Ebola”, joined the band. With the arrival of Francesco, the band raised the bar, leaving aside old-school death metal, turning to the 90’s powerful black metal sound, . but all the while maintaining the devastating impact of thrash. The group remained however without a singer. In fact, in 2009, during the recording of their first album “The Arrival of Chaos …Who’s Next?”, voice was provided by Fulvio, singer with “In Cold Blood” and owner of the Refuse Studio. Only now in 2010, approaching the recording of their second album “After the Chaos…Who’s Alive?”, has the band been able to introduce their new official singer, Sami. Whiskey & Funeral are working to promote their sound and to head in a new direction, leaving behind the sound of today, and establishing themselves in the pursuit of musical originality.
