BLACKWINGS form in August 2005 as a cover-band of Deep Purple, Rainbow, Stratovarius, Dream Theater.
In November of the same year, upon a few adjustments, the band gets to the line-up that will mantain until early 2008.
Aged between 16 and 21 Blackwings at once attract the attention of local audience and media and soon enough start building an impressively solid fanbase.
The line-up is so formed by Filippo Cavallini (bass - born 1987), Federico Rubini (keyboards - born 1989), Francesco Rubini (guitars - born 1989), Giacomo Bazzani (drums - born 1991) and Diego Albini (vocals - born 1986).
With such line-up the band starts an intensive live activity around their hometown Ferrara and rapidly gain great response and appreciation from audience and media representatives. The latter get so favourably impressed by the band's live performances that start reporting about them and contribute to taking the band to the attention of a much wider audience.
In a very short time and upon massive word-of-mouth support, Blackwings become a true phenomenon in Italy's north-east area and all their live dates witness totally packed venues and sold-out events.
In August 2006 the band enters the studio and records a 4-track-demo including 2 cover songs and 2 own tracks. The piece obtains excellent reviews all over the world and gets the band approached by numerous international record labels.
In February 2007 Blackwings team up with renown label Underground Symphony and record the material featured in their debut disc "Sacred Shiver".
Recordings take place at Fear Studios under the supervision of Simone Mularoni (guitar player of prog-metal act DGM) and Gabriele Ravaglia.
In early 2008 the Rubii twin-brothers quit the band and are replaced by Luca Fortini on guitars and Alessandro Duo' on keyboards and backing vocals.
Blackwings are currently preparing the release of "Sacred Shiver" and keep themselves fit with live dates in domestic territory.
