From Ashes to New was formed in 2013 by ex-members of several local bands in the Lancaster area of Pennsylvania.

Their music features elements of genres such as rap rock, alternative rock, post-hardcore, heavy metal, hard rock and electronic rock.

The band gained a strong following on social media outlets such as Facebook and Instagram before releasing their self-titled extended play in only a few months. In 2015, they released a second extended play, Downfall, as a taste of their debut album, set to be released in 2016, titled "Day One".
