Chrome Waves was formed in 2010 by current and former members of Abigail Williams, Amiensus, Nachtmystium, The Gates of Slumber, The Atlas Moth, Twilight and Wolvhammer.
In 2012 Chrome Waves released a self titled EP and in 2019 their first full length named "A Grief Observed" via Disorder Recordings in United States and Avantgarde Music in Europe.
In 2019 Chrome Waves released "The Cold Light of Despair", a compilation with 3 new songs and 3 cover.

In 2020 Chrome Waves released a split with Gridfailure, an experimental/ambient project by David Brenner.
In the same year the band released their second full length: "Where We Live" via Disorder Recordings.
In 2021 Chrome Waves - under the flag of Disorder Recordings - released their 3rd full called "The Rain Will Cleanse" and after two years, in 2023, their new effort "Earth Will Shed Its Skin" via M-Theory Audio.
