Forged in 2003 in the belly of Her Majesty's Naval bastion, Dragon Eye Morrison awakened in the minds of original members Adam Hatton and Paul Hovey. They realised that banality had overcome the music that surrounded them and began recording and venting live.
They unleashed the 4 track EP/Demo “The Official Pace Car Of The Apocalypse” in 2005 in a limited capacity. This would be their initial salvo and would set precedent for all that would follow. Subsequent years would see them refine their savage art on stage, in the midst of kindred bands and in support of headline acts.
2009 would see further progression and maturation for Dragon Eye Morrison, with the release of the “Drama” EP. Four life-shredding slabs of breathless metal, inexorably intense but always with an eye on dynamics and melody. The EP was shipped to Supercharged350 studios in Florida (USA), for focus and mastering. The eponymous title track demanded that the band create something visual to represent themselves and the official “Drama” Music Video was realised within the walls of a fortress.
When asking vocalist Adam Hatton how he perceives metal music in this current age, he’ll tell you: “Heavy music is buried in a morgue of mediocrity. The public is obsessed by brutality, yet when the layers are peeled back there is nothing of substance. An unnerving density combined with a visceral, intelligent melody is what defines us”.
Metal in 2011 is paralysed in a catatonic state; a victim in an age of reformation and nostalgia that has a stranglehold on the genre. Dragon Eye Morrison (herein known as DEM) escaped the pandemic of mediocrity, avoiding becoming victims themselves, by holing themselves away and emerging only when they had a corrective. The antidote is a three track journey that is as violent and graceful as the beast itself.
“The Kodiak” is a record chronicling the tribulations of an ancient tribe seeking reason and revenge for the death of one of their own at the hands of nature’s own barbarity. To fully associate with these trials, is to understand them and DEM invite you to open your ears.

The band have now signed to Anomalousz Music Records to release their records on download worldwide and have previously played live shows with higher profile bands such as The Haunted (Century Media) , God Forbid (Century Media) , Fozzy (Riot Entertainment) , Electric Eel Shock (Double Peace Records) , Tesseract (Century Media) , Enochian Theory (Mascot Records) and The Arusha Accord (Basick Records).
