The very first line-up of the band was formed by F. Thomas Ferretti (vocals) and Salva Labella (Drums) during the high school days: their great passion for music and a strong determination since the early days helped them to put together a band and start playing and composing songs. After some years of hard work, recordings demos, EPs and live shows around Tuscany and Italy, in 2005 "The Blacklies" found its perfect match with the new entry members Emiliano Mammini (Guitars) and Francesco Rossi (Bass). Since then they started working and composing what now have become their new studio album "Ground floor".
• In 2006 it partecipated at the "Lucca Summergiovani Music Contest" and won as the "Best Band" and "Best Guitarist" of the competition. After that the guys started collaborating with the Producer and Sound engineer Nicola Baronti of City Music recording studio and decided to record and arrange the whole tracks with him. The mixdown was done at the famous "Britannia Row Studios" (ex-Pink Floyd studios) in London by the Master Engineer Dillon Gallagher (Mika, James Blunt, Kylie Minogue).
• In 2007 The Blacklies was invited to join the first scheduled live show of one the most important festival in Italy: the "Lucca Summer Festival" organized by D'alessandro & Galli productions. That was a wonderful opportunity to test the new songs and the power of live performance in front of a real crowd.
• After that, the only purpose of the band was to find the right label to promote its music and start playing it live as much as possible. Here it is ...this is now "The Blacklies: Ground floor ".
