Askara first shook the Swiss metal landscape by contributing a song to the sampler „Heavy Metal Nation IX“ released with Quam Libet records. Since that day the band works untiringly on new musical material and takes their concert audience onto an enthralling journey through the scope of melodic dark metal.

With the debut album „Horizon of Hope“ released in October 2016 the first milestone of band history was accomplished: 8 powerful songs saw the light of day and were widely welcomed in many scene magazines and the album lauded for its quality.

Following gigs on domestic territory and also close-by Germany and not so close-by Sweden, in 2018 Askara went on their first tour opening up for Sleeping Romance (Napalm Records) in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. The band played larger shows and locations like Backstage (Munich), Das Bett (Frankfurt), Metropol (Hengelo NL). Thus convincing live on tour the band signed with the Dutch booking agency Desert Rose Agency who represents the band exclusively in the Netherlands and Belgium.

2019 Askara plays more gigs and larger festivals in Germany and the Netherlands amongst others as supporting act for Sirenia, Cellar Darling and War of Ages. 2021 the band signed their first label deal with Fastball Music. In 2022 relesed the new album "Lights of Night".
