Sinoath was formed in 1990 in Catania, Sicily, by drummer Salvatore Fichera, bassist Fabio Lipera, guitarist Rob Messina and Nicola De Carne, in 1990 Nicola De Carne left the band and Adriano Cucinotta joined the band.
The band was mainly influenced by fellow American death metal bands as well as the British. The band's first demo "Forged in blood" was released in 1991. The demo became substantially influential in extreme metal music. After this demo Fichera and Lipera left the band and are replaced by drummer Dario Casabona and guitarist Seby Minniti with the addition of Andrea Zanetti as vocalist.
After the following demo "Still in the grey dying" that was recorded in demo tape version in 1993 via Obscure Plasma Records and after re-printed on CD via Nosferatu Records in 1995 which received better production. In 1995 the band changed their line-up with new members, bassist Enrico Sorbello, guitarist Luca Correnti and drummer Andrea Tilenni. Sinoath signed to the italian Polyphemus Records and released their first full length album "Research", and disbanded soon after. Fichera reformed the band in 2003 with Frank Dovorcon Tudisco on vocals and bass and S.Addams as session guitarist.
Sinoath re-released the EP "Forged in blood" via Elegy Music with four live tracks bonus, originally recorded in 1991. After that Sinoath released an inedit internet demo limited to only 50 downloads in 2005.
The 2007 was the year of their second full length album release "Under the ashes". A song from their latest album appear on the "Ancient ceremonies" compilation CD. After a long break in September 2014 Fabio Lipera back in the band as a guitarist and in October of the same year join the band Alessio Zappalà as bassist. In spring 2015 join the band Massimo Chiofalo as second guitar and Francesco Cucinotta (Felis Catus) as vocalist and keyboards. So in August 2015 the band finally recorded a new Ep named "Meanders of doom" via Final Earthbeat Productions (500 limited copies!).
After recording of "Meanders of doom" Massimo Chiofalo left the band and Francesco Cucinotta replaced him as lead guitar. In 2017 the finnish Label, repress the two underground demo plus the first gig on a cult double gatefold LP and in 2018 the new album called "Anamnesis" is finally released , distribuited by Black Widow Records.
