Formed in 2006 by Rob Grave (g,v), Jukka (dr) and Michael G. Low (b) in Liestal/BL (Switzerland), Michael left the band shortly afterwards due to some personal reasons. He was temporarily replaced by Wilson, yet after some shows and a demo in early 2007, he left to seek his fortune down under Australia. In was Simone, who also had quite an effort to play live and record stuff. But she also had to leave and by summer 2008 Lord of the Grave was back in its original line up – to play some local shows as well as a short tour in 2009 with Revelation, Lord Vicar and Mirror of Deception, culminating in a performance at the Doom Shall Rise Festival in Germany.

Also - Lord of the Grave released their debut CD «Raunacht» on infamous German doom label «The Church Within» in spring 2009. Later that year, original drummer Jukka stepped down from the band to be replaced by skin basher Sam Wart. Thus the Lord of the Grave now acts in his most primal, dirge filled and out-doomed constellation so far.
