Formed in late 2011, Rex Shachath are an old school death metal band from Northern Ireland.

The band was formed when vocalist Dave Connolly approached Overoth guitarist Andrew Pennington with the idea of forming a new death metal band. Very quickly Jay Rogers also from Overoth was hired to handle drum duties and was followed by bass player Eddie West and guitarist Jonathan 'Frankie' Francis from the now defunct old school death metal outfit Sadisture.

In only a few short months Rex Shachath were ready to establish their presence and entered The Oaks Studio with producer John Moffat to record 'Sepulchral Torment'. A deal was inked with Hostile Media and a date was slated for 07th September 2012 for the bands debut release.
