The project Strix has it’s birth in Belluno in Jannuary 2007 from the will of Umbra (guitar, side-project Permixtio) together with Anxius (bass) and Rex Noctis (vocals).
In a very short time the band releases in the first self-produced and self-distributed demo by the name “Abisso d’Odio”; a crude, direct demo, that can remind of the first Darkthrone, Godless North and the Italian Tenebrae in Perpetuum.

Then the line-up of Strix becomes bigger with the entrance in the band of Murmur (drums, side-project Propaganda) and Khamul (guitar). All together they produce new tracks, and in February 2008 they record 4 new songs at Deconstruction Studio, that ended up in the homonymous Ep “Strix”, limited to 666 copies.
Lyrics are mostly inspired by the works of Nietzsche, with a strong focus on anti-christian thoughts, but in an atheistic and not satanic way.
The relationship between man and nature and the local myths and legends are aspects the band treats.
