The band was born in 1980 but finds his definitive line up in 1998 with Alessandro Tronconi (vocals), Luciano Tattini (rhythm guitar), Alessio AMOS Amorati (lead guitar), Gianni GINO Zenari (bass), Andrea MARIO Baldi (drums). Here starts a new age of the band with a great and continuous live activity, lots of radio shows, compilations and albums. 1999-2000: The band produces the album Bigditch 4707, 10 tracks is pure heavy metal from the eighties, Today all the copies printed are sold out. 2001-2003: Thanks to the great feedback received by the promotion of Bigditch 4707, the band plays everywhere, supporting PAUL DI ANNO during the whole italian tour. In 2002 the band finds a deal with the French label DEADSUN RECORDS, and a full length is released in September 2003: HEADSHAKER contains 11 tracks of great old-school Heavy Metal. The album is handed out all over the world, getting fabulous reviews, and positive feedback from the fans... The HEADSHAKER TOUR 2003/2004 keeps the band busy the whole year long, with hundreds of gigs everywhere, supporting MICHAEL SCHENKER, UDO, IRON SAVIOR, RAGE, etc... During the tour (that ends in November 2004 taking the band to Germany for the first time at the KEEP IT TRUE festival), the band produces the video of ONLY FOR THE RAIN CREW, dedicated to all the fans who follow the band from the very beginning. The video is immediately available in many web sites, and on various TVs like MATCHMUSIC and ROCK TV... 2006-2007: after replacing the singer, the band signs with AURAL MUSIC and start working on the new album, and in late 2007, “DAD is DEAD” is recorded at Fear Studio by Gabriele Ravaglia and Mastered by Eddy Schreyer (Slayer, Alice in Chains, Queen) in Los Angeles. The band start to promote the album on stage, touring the USA for the first time supporting WASP then playing both in Europe and in Italy to their loyal fans. In late 2010 Rain decides to embark on a new project titled XXX: This album, conceived to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the band, contains 13 songs already present in their discography but revisited with a new look, completely re-arranged and re-played by the new line up. The album has also a brand new song written last year while on tour in the U.S. called “Whiskey on the Route 666” (already present in “XXX” in its English version). “MEXICAN WAY” also contains two highly successful Mexican sound cover: “Tijuana Jail” by Gilby Clarke and “Ride Like the Wind” by Christopher Cross . Currently the band is busy with the Mexican Way Italian tour to promote the eponymous album. Started in March 2014 in Rome, it has already visited the cities of Bologna, Padua and Milan. It will continue in Ferrara, Brescia to be back in Bologna and then back again to Milan. In July they’ll also participate at the Total Metal Festival in Bari. During this tour RAIN perform both in acoustic and electric and they introduce their hits taken from “DAD IS DEAD” and “XXX” and cross-over versions of songs from “MEXICAN WAY”. After the arriving of the new singer Mantis le Sin, the RAIN’s team has renewed its incentives to continue their productive work with Aural Music, the label to which they are engaged to release a new album in electric by the end of 2014. From April 2014 RAIN's management has been entrusted to David Tonioni, since years already member of the RAINCREW (team of loyal supporters and partners of the band).
