Minenwerfer formed in the winter of 2007 by Kriegshammer with the intention of bringing to life the grotesque Great War trenches, battles of valour, and authentic military history in the form of rapid fire machine gun black metal.
Releasing some early demos and the first full-length album "Volkslieder" (2010) as a solo project more members were soon recruited. After a few line up changes, the core members of Kriegshammer and Verwüstung have kept the war machine rolling steady since 2011.
With the band now firmly established, Minenwerfer would release "Nihilistischen" (2012) focusing on the intense naval battles of 1916 and experiment with martial industrial. After a number of EPs and splits, the long awaited "Alpenpässe" (2019) was released to critical acclaim; showcasing a focus on the winter landscapes of the Alpine mountains and further musical experimentation
Like a finely tuned panzer, Minenwerfer will continue belching forth odes of honor and remembrance to the fallen soldiers of The Great War into the 2020s.
In 2023 the band releases the new album "Feuerwalze".
Minenwerfer does not adhere to any political ideologies.
