Arthemis was formed in Italy in 1994, and self-released their first album “Church Of The Holy Ghost” in 1999. Soon after, the band signed a recording contract and released “The Damned Ship” in Japan (2001) and in Europe (2002). This was followed by the worldwide release of “Golden Dawn” (2003), “Back From The Heat” (2005) and “Black Society” (2008). Arthemis have played numerous live performances, tours, and festivals around Europe, supporting and co-headlining with famous artists such as Slayer, Dragonforce, Hammerfall, Yngwie Malmsteen, Glenn Hughes, George Lynch, Within Temptation and Cradle of Filth. The band has also appeared in a TV commercial in Italy, as well as various other Hard Rock/Heavy Metal TV Shows. In 2009, Arthemis had a headlining Japanese Tour and appeared at a number of festivals in the UK, such as Bloodstock On Air 2009, Hellfire II, Hard Rock Hell III, and recently, Hammerfest II.
“Arthemis…primary purpose is to win over… Hard Rock Hell crowed. They do it with ease, motoring through… slick and fiery power-cum-thrash metal and charming all and sundry with big smiles and bigger riffs.”
- Dom Lawson, Geoff Burton and Scott Rowley - Metal Hammer / Classic Rock Magazine
Arthemis have always been a full-on, surprise metal band. “Heroes” is an exhilarating high- powered metal experience; so much so that this artistic imprint defines their career to date as one of the most fresh and cutting edge in metal music. “This record, in terms of lyrics, is our answer to the odds in a teenager’s or adult’s daily life. Musically, we want to give a high-powered metal sound with a modern approach, and a strong hint of positive energy.” states shredding guitarist, Andy. It’s the band’s alchemy, however, in great arrangement: between vocals, guitar work, bass and drums, a good karmic atmosphere and a steady groove, that make up the language Arthemis uses as a dialect. Volume does speak louder than words! The album sets itself up perfectly in the modern metal world, yet is well-dosed with the powerful melodies that bands like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Megadeth managed to achieve. As such, the music of Arthemis is perfectly balanced within a high-demanding metal community, and therefore is worth indulging in.
