Nucleus Torn is a Swiss ensemble led by multi-instrumentalist, composer and sound-engineer Fredy Schnyder. The origins of the band date back to 1997, when FS started to write music for solo classical guitar, that - although at a much later date - surfaced on the 'Krähenkönigin' EP. Nucleus Torn slowly but steadily absorbed new members, and, following two demo EPs ('Silver' in 2000 and 'Submission' in 2003), the band released the first full-length album 'Nihil' in 2006 and signed soon after to Prophecy Productions. In 2008, Nucleus Torn attacked the world again, this time with 'Knell', a record both daring and demanding as few others. Be it modern classical or folk music, extreme metal or jazz - Nucleus Torn is not afraid of it. What else could be said of the group's newest offering 'Andromeda Awaiting', released on November 26th 2010? Nothing specific. You need to be open-minded. You need to let go of preconceived ideas of where music and art can go. These are the sounds of our lives, and we give them to you.
