Ascendant was formed in late 2012 by Alaa, Puneet and Ashish - the inclusion of Aram and Youmni within a couple of months completed the line up. Right from the beginning, the members had a clear vision for the band - to play exactly the sort of music they loved. Pure, powerful and high quality heavy metal about topics that mattered to them.

With an emphasis on playing original material, Ascendant has taken the UAE metal scene by storm after just a handful of shows.

The band has diverse roots with members from Syria, Armenia and India. All the band members are experienced musicians with several projects behind them. Their synergy is obvious and is manifested in their electrifying live performances and songs which are instantly catchy and unapologetically powerful.
