Ex Animo was founded in the early 2000s as a studio project of Andrey Lunko and Victor Kotlyarov. In 2004 they released a debut album 'Solitary' that combined the elements of death, doom and gothic metal.

Further songs became more melodic and it was decided to search for a female voice. In 2008 young Julia Orwell joined Ex Animo as a new lead vocalist. New material was released in 2010 in the EP 'Soulglass'.

Owing to the unstable situation with the lineup and also some technical issues, the release of a full album was significantly delayed. However, all the recordings were finished by autumn 2014 and in March, 2015, a new single called 'Shattered Universe' was presented to the audience.

In 2016 they released their LP record 'Neverday', which contain eight even more dramatic and heavier songs
