Started in 1989 as Corpse Grinder, playing their first live show on August 17, 1989 at Flash Gordon's in Cleveland, Ohio, and playing a set of all songs that would be renamed and become classic Embalmer tracks such as "Cremation" (the original version of "Into the Oven") and "Kill for Satan" (which would later be renamed "Formaldehyde").
